The President-Chairman of the board of RUSSLAVBANK (CJSC) Nikolay Gousman took part in the second session of the International videoconference «Migration and remittances in Europe and Central Asia», arranged by the World Bank (Washington).
The topical issue of the session: «Concept of migrant remittances’ quantity estimation». Nikolay Gousman introduced authorial methodology of estimating the quantity of laborers from other countries, the migrant environment and its legal level in his report «Migration processes in the light of money transfers in the former Soviet Union». Analysis is based on data from International Money Transfers and Payments CONTACT System and statistics from Central Bank of Russia about transactions in the former Soviet Union.
Nikolay Gousman was the only one representative of money transfers’ Russian market. Being an expert of it, he took part in discussion of relevant issues with foreign colleagues during the videoconference. Reasoning about contemporary concepts of estimating money transfers’ flows, the President-Chairman of the board of RUSSLAVBANK pointed out, that there is no relevant legal regulation of remitting companies’ functioning and abtrusity of transmitting
money flows.
Representatives of the World Bank confirmed, that the problem, marked by N. Gousman, was highly important.
The President of the Foundation «Migration – XXI Century» Vyacheslav Postavnin, his deputy Natalya Vlasova, representative of the Ministry of economic development and trade Vladimir Volkov, the Director of the Migrational Research Center Elena Turukanova and other experts also became the delegates of the Conference from Russia.
